On My Deathbed (A Dedication)

On the brink I stand all alone,
Thinking of you, just you.
The breeze is still, my motions mum,
I do not know why on my deathbed I am taking so long.

My emotions have dried, so as my soul,
The heart was beating, yes! But it was not mine.
You have ripped me apart, and left me to die,
Rotten and decayed, I am darker than coal.

I did feel you that day, and I was lost,
Your eyes, I missed a breath.
My blood has been soaked up all,
I am sold to death at no cost.

My sun is down now, bathed in red,
Your lips, the color of dawn.
I am going to get down there,
My deathbed is prepared which I have made.

I left the brink of the rock flying deep within,
You weren't there that day, I needed you!
But I know I will be there forever,
Because my heart is not with me, it's there with you.
