I had just learned
how to fly,
Fly high above
the world to the sky,
Never felt the breeze
so close,
Never felt my breath
so High.
Flying with the wind,
I suppose,
Nothing seemed
familiar, or distinct,
There was one and
only Me.
I crossed the sea and
the land,
Flowing through the
endless sky,
I flew past and away
all souls,
And flew a bit more
high.
I remembered none, no
one at all.
I cared for her, she was past.
All I felt was
myself,
It was all me, and my
shadow cast.
Drunk with the wine of
success, I reign,
Pushing ahead the
winds of time,
Ambitious I was, oh yes!
All for myself I
sublime.
Flying fast and away
I heard,
The muffled cry of a
fallen bird,
A cry for help, a cry
for care,
A cry wanting to be
heard.
I won success, and
also Glory,
I ruled with riches
and gold,
But I am not proud nor calm,
Nothing, but a pain I
hold.
That day I was flying
towards my Glory,
Against the bird
which cried for help,
I was all mind then,
no heart.
Thinking all about
self.
I didn't help that
bird that day,
And I achieved all
high,
Success and not Life
I gained,
As I had just learned to fly
Nice composition.
ReplyDeleteThank you sir for your response.Appreciated.
DeleteYou are a wonderful poet, Indranil. Composition is beautiful no doubt; but the format is consistent and that is what impressed me.
ReplyDeleteCould you reduce the size of the photo or move it to the top of the post or to the bottom. Then the width of the sentences would look uniform (presently verses next to the photo are wrapped up). Just for aesthetics sake :-)
Thank you sir for your sweet response. I would definitely try to adjust the picture accordingly. Thank you again for your encouragement.
DeleteWow! It looks wonderful now!
DeleteJust the way I expected it to be :-)
